While at Rockefeller Center do not miss possibly the best view of Manhattan (in Manhattan). Top of the Rock Observation Deck. If you haven't done this touristy attraction, i highly recommend it.
30 Rockefeller Plaza
(Entrance located on 50th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue)
One of my favorite places to eat in your area is a Greek restaurant called "Uncle Nick's". It's about a 20 minute walk to go cross-town from 5th Ave. Not too bad.

After lunch, how about a quick spin through the Museum of Modern Art for some artsy fartsy culture? 53rd St btwn 5th/6th. Pause for a moment to soak in VanGogh's "Starry Night" and then geek out with the current "50 Years of Helvetica" exhibit.

Window shopping? Apple Store, Sony flagship, NIke flagship, LouisVuitton flagship, (are you starting to see a trend here?), Tiffany's, Burberry, Hammacher Schlemmer, even Jacob the Jeweler is within walking distance.
