OK, a bidder from France just "won" my eBay auction. Now what?

[quote deckeda]Yes I'll insure it and track it. It's an SLR lens I can't afford to lose.
much.
Do check his feedback record. One issue regarding insurance is that filing a claim usually requires that you get a signed affidavit from the buyer indicating that the item was never received. If you have an honest buyer, they will usually oblige.

On the other hand, if they are dishonest and file a fraudulent "item not received" claim with PayPal but refuse to provide you with the affidavit, then you may be screwed, since PayPal may still give them a refund.

PayPal ought to amend their protection policies so that buyers are required to provide such affidavits for "lost" items that have been insured in order to get their refund, but AFAIK they don't have such a policy.

The items I sell on eBay are not particularly attractive to scammers, but SLR lenses are a different matter. Best would be a shipping method requiring a signature.
