I cannot speak for Minty. Were that I could I'd think he might not think it a bad idea to send a check to your local Little League or other baseball organization for kids under 15. Many of these are under funded an in fact could use the help.
More to the point. Call your local and ask them what it takes (usually $130 or so) to sponsor a kid who otherwise couldn't afford to play.
Do something meaningful and dedicate your good deed to Minty. Let his family know you did this. If you have a shortage of kids in your area needing this PM me, I have more kids than their folks have money!
