I think if someone is having their posts pulled a lot, a mod should step in and PM the offender privately as a warning. I have no idea if that's done here.
It is.
Sometimes Inter-Moderator communication is not as fast as we would like.
The "Red Phones" are in the shop for firmware upgrades.
Thank you for stating that! It's very nice to hear.
Overall, I've been impressed at how fast a lot of the insults have been pulled. Just wondered what kind of follow up (if any) was going on behind the scenes.
and we are scattered across the globe. very little we do is a knee-jerk reaction. It is usually done with at least consulting another moderator. And yes, mods have been called to the mat as well. The rules apply to everyone.
and once again, when someone gets banned, they have usually gotten several last warnings. In the case of elmo3, he was banned, and reappeared in less than a day (maybe a few hours) and essentially flipped us the bird.
What the heck were we supposed to do? When someone has NO respect for the rules, they have no place here.
Different denizens here have differing opinions and tollerance levels for what is considered a personal attack. We need to abide with rules that were set out for us to supervise and apply them as best as we see fit. We are human, just as you all are.
The best that we can do is try and foster the proper environment for this place to flourish.
All the mods are volunteers, and non of us do it for ego. For the most part, it is a pain in the arse. But we do it because we like it here, and want it to flourish.
