That may very well be the case. The way the rules are enforced, it's tough to tell how much actually gets done. But I have seen knee-jerk reactions on more than a few occasions.
You may think so, but I know at least one other mod does not think that way. And I'm not talking about what that mod posted, but rather openly not enforcing the rules even when cited.
I wonder how many of the moderators have noticed the TOS link at the bottom of this page doesn't work. The actual rules are at: http://www.macresource.com/tos.cfm
Some of the rules there that are commonly broken are:
•Use a message board or other service to harass others
•Use MacResource Forums and/or Price.com to disseminate any inappropriate, defamatory, libelous, threatening, infringing, obscene, or unlawful material or information
•Violate any copyright law, or other intellectual property law
•Violate any criminal statute
Any attempt to manipulate forum rankings by artificially inflating counts of visitors, message views, postings or other items used in determining the forum's standing will be considered a violation of this agreement
Message boards and other services provided by MacResource Forums and/or Price.com may not be used for unauthorized commercial purposes -including participation in any affiliate program other than that operated by MacResource Forums and/or Price.com- is prohibited.
(And, yes, I did ask permission to put the affiliate link for MacInTouch in my sig)
What's even more saddening about all this, is one moderator has broken the TOS in this very thread. It's not the first time the same moderator has broken the same policy.
