BOURNE on the 4th of July!. . .when it comes to 'Jason Bourne,' Matt Damon. . .
#13
Lost any interest/desire when Damon started spouting about how much "better" their Bourne character was than Bond. Unbelievable.

I wonder when Damon made that statement, and which Bond he was referring to.

In it's time, the Connery Bonds were/are my favorite. He has a great subtle brutishness balanced with charm that nobody, including Craig has matched.

All the subsequent Bonds paled, though Lazenby and Brosnan had their moments.

I don't think the Bond franchise is tired anymore--not since Casino Royale. I'm looking forward to A Quantum of Solace.

Also agreed. Craig's Bond is more roughly hewn than Connery's, as a young Connery might have been. He has yet to develop the suave charm and ease, but if the franchise lasts, we will probably see that develop.

As as for the action, wow! I think both Damon and Craig handle the action spectacularly well, though Damon has the benefit of some serious martial arts training/coaching.

I had my doubts about Craig when he was first named-- "...a BLOND Bond?! WTF!!" The trailers didn't comfort me any. But when I went to the show, I was impressed. Craig sold it big time.

I'm hoping he'll do four Bonds before hanging up his hat (not on Moneypenny's rack, sadly. Connery quit (came back for Never say "Never" because he didn't want to be known as James Bond for the rest of his life. (That ship has sailed.) Craig stays very busy doing non-Bond stuff, so I hope the good writing, etc., keeps him interested.
