Olive oil and dogs

my dogs coat is very dull and dry. the olive oil was sitting on the kitchen counter when i was putting his food bowl together and i decided to add a little to his food. olive oil is good for humans. is it good for dogs? will it help his coat?
he ate all his food, btw. he also likes broccoli. maybe i should have made him a salad. |
