keep on them. If the in-store genius has seen the issue, don't let them blow you off. After a number of attempts, they will probably give you a new machine. Probably an upgrade. The magic number is 3 or more repairs. I would assume numerous repair attempts on the same machine for the same issue would count. This is a customer relations issue, outside the normal repair chain.

I had a 3rd gen 10 gig refurbed iPod replaced 3 times, the 3rd one was DOA btw. The dreaded "skipping" issue with the 3rd gens. I ended up with a 30 gig 5th gen video after working with their customer relations people.
