The USPS has recently decided not to take credit cards without ID check and signed cards. The ID check I can certainly see.
But I haven't signed a credit card in 30 years as that's just giving it away; should you leave it, lose it, whatever.
Maybe that's just years of traveling. But if the hotel clerk, waitress, etc is getting $10/hr, they have no real incentive to protect your lost, left or whatever card.
Seems a sig on the spot with and ID check would be a better then a signed card.
