Someone gave me a Belkin Router but the PS is missing will this work?

The Router, a Belkin F5D7230-4, has 5V/2A molded on the case. The closest Power Supply I have
that the connector actually fits is a 4.5V/600mA. I found a Power Supply that has the correct
voltage and amperage but he connector doesn't fit. I would have to the 2 cords and splice them
together for to be an exact match or order a PS off eBay which I hate to do not whether it
works or not. Will this slightly less voltage and amperage PS at least power it long enough to
see if the thing actually works.

Also why does Belkin use the same model # on different styles of routers? I just searched their
site and it shows a completely different router.
