Yeah, I remember seeing them play the War Eagle Supper Club (one of the divey-est dives you're ever likely to find) in Auburn during the Mr. Crowes' Garden days. They were pretty bad back then. Flash forward a couple of years to opening for Robert Plant around 1990, they'd really come a long way, and they were an order of magnitude better than that on their first headlining tour in '92.
Saw them play the Tabernacle and the Fox Theater a couple of years back when the band reformed. A bit to jammy for my tastes these days, but they still put on a good show.
