The iPod Touch and a netbook are different beasts; they are not really substitutes for one another.
My iPod Touch is not a good substitute for my netbook. My iPod Touch is more of a greatly enhanced PDA, a role a netbook could never fill. It fits in my pocket, no netbook does that. Being pocket-size it is easy to take along when traveling. It runs many apps that would not be useful on a netbook were they even available. While not a pleasure to use as an Internet machine, my Touch does get on the Internet in a pinch.
The reverse is also true, a netbook is not a substitute for a Touch. It doesn't run iTunes apps and it doesn't fit in my pocket. It's a better Internet machine because it has a full keyboard. In my opinion it is more a highly portable, but diminished, substitute for my Mac. So I use it as a portable computer on which I have very little of my information. I take it to meetings for note taking or to make presentations and I take it with me when I'll want to get onto the Internet or work with my email. I expect I'll find other uses and limitations of my netbook as time goes by.
