I had seen this program before on the History channel and re-watched most of it again last night. I did not find it depressing, just interesting. I had more of a "circle of life" reaction to it. It just reinforced the idea that we humans are constantly fighting back the forces of nature to keep our fragile structures and society intact. I see this myself all the time when I work in my yard and around my house. If you don't constantly keep up with maintenance and upkeep, nature will just take things back. Not depressing really, just a fact of life/death.
