I'm interested--one of my cats is having skin and coat problems, too.
yes. I was getting it locally from a small locally owned pet store. It was about $20 for a 16 oz bottle. pump bottle, and 3 pumps twice a day. Sort of like gravy on their kibble. Took about a month to show results. They always licked their bowls clean. Just clean the bowls more often.
Frequently it will also contain rosemary. That is to reduce spoilage of the oil over time.
No downside from what I have been told for the salmon oil. Vet says it is great for both dogs and cats, coats and their skin. Came from these guys, and here is some info
I even saw some at Costco last week.
The Omega-3 oils in fish oil (EPA and DHA) are proven to reduce inflammation, and I take fish oil capsules for my worn out hip. It really does help. So if the animal is older, it may help some with joint issues as well.
