From a "hack" perspective, I don't think the Boot132 method is that much more invasive than the EFI-X dongle. You're still going to need custom KEXT files.
quad 2.33, the Q8200 {BX80580Q8200}. Very happy with mine.
And I agree re the Boot132 method; very simple, easy to update, and everything works*. Plus, you save $150+ not buying the EFI-X.
* You have to obtain the right hardware for either method, although Boot132 is more flexible.
