Why are you intentionally missing the point? Take the damn FDA out of my reply. The point still remains. Who is going to certify all that and how, in Canada or elsewhere? FYI, Islamic countries import most of their meat and they don't have a clue if it was halal or not. They'll go with the lowest bidder and that's that.

Dakota-

You may not realize that 'halal' is empirically the same as "Kosher". In fact, most Muslims in the US will often shop in the Kosher section of the market for that reason. Why ? Because large chunks of the Q'uran were cribbed from the Jewish Torah and the Christian Bible.

Your contention that Muslim nations get their meat from the lowest bidder is not essentially correct. They will typically require inspections and slaughtering facility certifications (the level of requirement is of course dependent on the developmental level of the nation). Also note that certain religious practices require the slaughtering of live animals as preparation for certain meals. So there is a huge trade in livestock as well. (not to mention the infamous "Sheep Ships" that trade in livestock from Sheep Stations in New Zealand and Australia .

I quoted you what halal means. Now you tell me how Campbell is going to certify it. How do you certify that someone praised Allah before slashing the throat of the sheep?

Perhaps they use a signed document.

Notarized, of course.
