I'm hesitant to 'trust my government', but in this case I'll say "Yeah !".

Photos will be nothing but fodder for the conspiracy nuts and the blood-lusty. I hope they don't release them.

Obama "courageous" decision to take out Obama? You must think he had a choice. The intel was there, he promised to find him and take him out during his campaign. CIA et al knew about this compound and Obama was informed last August. Do you really think he could do nothing? He had to give the order to "go" or look like Bill Clinton who missed his chance.

I do give him credit for using the SEALS instead of just dropping JDams.

Well, the prior Republican administration had given him precedent...

As Americans we have to respect the dignity of the dead. No pictures, no virtual dragging through the streets. No sense stooping to Bin Laden's level.

Adam's photo of General Nguyen Loan executing a Viet Cong prisoner certainly didn't help Hubert Humphrey a lot in 1968.

If the mission had failed, Obama would be a laughingstock, the right would be riding his arse even worse than they have been, his failure would be part of the history books, and he would probably have little to no chance of being re-elected. He did what a President should do and in this day and age that does take courage.

I don't think some people are taking into consideration that they could have simply blown the place up with bombs and let us know bin Ladin was in there when they did so. They went the extra mile to be sure they got him, and that meant making a tough decision about sending those brave men in to do so. I have no doubt the decision was not taken lightly.
