Well I only commented about Newt in this thread. In general though, there are candidates that make political operatives smile (like Jesse Jackson or Ralph Nader or Michelle Bachmann) because they have zip chance of actually winning and only serve to drain votes from more serious candidates.

Unless you us to believe that every single Democratic candidate for president back in 2008 was considered equally strong by Republican political types?





And hey if we have you on record here that Newt is a serious candidate that you will be supporting financially and in forum postings, that would just be all kinds of awesome! Do we have you on record supporting Newt, now?

To tell you the truth, I am exhausted. I did not watch the debate last week either. As to Newt, I like him as an idea man. I liked that he drove drill baby, drill now last time around to the point that even Democrats said they were for drilling. I don't particularly like his "baggage" because that is all everyone will be talking about. Last time I liked Romney over McCain. I am not sure how I feel about him this time around.

I welcome Newt running. It siphons money away from other candidates. I am a little jealous because I can not figure out how to give myself a cushy job making $50 million being my own adviser.

That is silly. I don't approve of giving free laptops to anybody. Before you say why I hate children, I must add that those laptops would not be free even if they appear to be.
