Find the holes . Get a "gopher gone" gas bomb. Fill in all the holes you can find and toss the flare gizmo into the last hole, then cover it up. Gasses them, and they are already buried.

You'll need something a tad more powerful than a .22 unless you want to shoot it a half dozen or more
times - even up close in a havahart trap You used to be able to aim car exhaust down their burrow but your exhaust is now too clean. The smoke bombs might work and you might iust annoy them and burn yourself. ============= if you have moles you might starve them away by poisoning your lawn and landscape enough or using a stab them trap, I have one that never stabbed anything but you have to be sure you have moles and not voles. Moles leave mounds of dirt in the lawn and landscaping voles eat roots and bark so your plants and trees are dying. I had troubles with voles destroying certain hostas last year, but the neighbor's cat seems to have gotten quite adept at catching them and bringing them home so I'm unmulching some places making them easier to find rather than poisoning them.

If you're not a really good shot, then as noted, other options are probably a better choice. ==

And leave your spiders alone. They are there helping keep your flys, etc. in check.
Exhaust is not too clean to kill. All that CO2 will do them in.

The car exhaust will work to a degree. I have used it as a humane put down of small animals - for that I just made a exhaust balloon of an old garbage bag and drop the creature in it, data within 5 seconds. The issue for your situation is the tunnels are very extensive and getting all the air pockets would be hard. Most likely at least one tunnel runs outside.
If it is an extensive population, as much as I hate to say it, poison is the best bet. You could try gas or traps first, but most likely it will be poison at the end.
