How to rip a dvd (owned) to put on ipad not scrambled?

While I normally use RipIt to rip DVDs and then process with Handbrake, using Handbrake itself for ripping is perfectly workable as well. Conversely, you could rip and transcode solely with RipIt. Lot of options really.
