I used to take out the color inserts in the hockey puck mouse. At least then I knew which way it was pointed, but it was still one of their worst.
My MagSafe adapter, an early T-type, had blackened blisters on the cable insulation and smoked. They gave me a new one at the local AS right quick, they did.
How about the worst M$ product? We could start a whole new forum for that.

How could one not know which way it was pointed?
The cable came out on only one point, and that never changed. I still have a hockey puck mouse. I used it for a long time, until I got my USB Kensington trackball.
My only complaint about the puck was the short cable.

I had a friend who lusted for a Mac for years in the late 80s/early 90s. He finally scraped enough of his hard earned money to get the machine of his dreams, a IIvx.

It is mostly because there are a lot of dumb people out there that don't know how to use or exercise proper care for their equipment. They think that just because they payed a lot of money for it they can abuse it or use them improperly and it will keep working.
If you take out all the bad reviews from people using them on their laps (of course it is going to fall out, wasn't designed for that) and take out at least half almost all of the cord problems (can't yank the plugs out by the cable, and you need to provide strain relief when you wrap the cable up, plus your cat shouldn't eat it, and you aren't supposed to twist them in knots, etc.) there really is just a normal mix of reviews.
For the accessories, most of the complains are that they aren't comparable with whatever device they were using. That happens a lot and isn't Apple's fault. The MiniDP sized connector is in use in a lot of Macs with a lot of different options for what can and cannot be done with it.

Uh oh, that's mine. It did stop working when I unpacked and tried to use it in Pittsburgh. I fiddled with everything possible (don't worry, I closed the shades first) and somehow got it to come to life eventually..... it's only left the house maybe 4 times since I've had it, no way it should not be perfect.

Hockey-puck mouse.
oh yeah, that too, but I was thinking of current Apple products.
Well, you didn't say that.

Plot twist: The friend purchased the IIvx just last week.

That logic seems counter-intuitive to me. Generally speaking, the more I pay for an item, the better I care for it.
