[quote JoeH]Always a pain supporting persons who don't know enough about what they are using to tell you what they are using.
Gone are the days when all the internet users were computer savvy. We all had Unix shell accounts and knew how to send email from a CLI client like elm. We all knew how to code a webpage in vi. We knew how to exploit SMTP servers and send anonymous or forged email.
But we all had dial-up connections unless we were living in a wired university residence hall.
That was only 10 years ago.

I suspect C(-)ris is right...
She's embedding pics in Word documents... (and I REALLY REALLY want to kill people that only know how to open Word documents, and insist on putting EVERYTHING inside a *$@# Word document!)...
If this is someone you have a choice doing business with or not.... Run... far, and fast...
Just run...

The zip is probably not "showing up" because she has her email client set not to accept .zip documents..
That or she's used to all attachments just magically "opening in word"... and is confused when they don't.

Having done computer support for over 20 years, I wish it were at all like you describe Lux, but even then you had to deal with persons intent on simplifying their view of computer usage to the point of oversimplification. The same held dealing with fellow users over 30 years ago when I started using computers. So it has not changed all that much with the Internet, just increased in total volume. I could go on, but that is getting close to opening up the rant valve. Best I can say is some people want to do the functional equivalent of calling anything with a keyboard a typewriter when as we all know, there are lots of things that have keyboards that are not typewriters.

Since you no longer have Office/Word, you could download a copy of OpenOffice and paste the pics in a document in there, save it as .doc filetype and send that. Of course, if she isn't seeing attachments at all, then you are still SOL.

I have found that the ability to save my pictures or text or whatever as a PDF file and then attach that to whatever email product has worked very well. They can't screw it up and most of the problem windows PC's do have reader installed already, so they can access the info.

My daughter, using her PC, had a problem getting my attachments. She finally discovered that if she scrolls ALL the way down to the bottom of the email the attachments showed up there. Solved her problem...........
