Is it crashing the moment that the splash screen appears or is there time for a status-message to show up in the splash screen?

Might be a clue if you look carefully.

I tried a launching Photoshop a few times and the Photoshop quit unexpectedly message appeared a brief moment after the splash screen closed, but then didn't appear at all after a few tries.

I noticed another anomaly tonight, not sure if it's related. Earlier my keyboard was not working, even though Systems Preferences said it was charged and connected. Also, pressing command + tab didn't work to show open apps. Earlier when it was working, applications lagged when hitting command + Q. Restarting seemed to fix the problem.

I ran Malwarebytes with the free trial upgrade and it found zero, zip, nada.

Success! See edit below.

In System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy, I removed Photoshop and then added it back again. Photoshop now seems to be working OK. I tried to update my re-installed version 12.0 to 12.0.4 but got an error - I'll try again later:

Photoshop 12.0.4 update for Photoshop CS5
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D207

I mentioned the Pen tool that I use. Another important feature for me is access to Photoshop's Camera Raw. Photoshop Elements has only a simple version.

Edit — PS opens fine but I'm still having some problems. One psd file keeps crashing when opening it. Other files seem to open fine. It crashes if I use the type tool (the file that crashes has an editable type layer, could be related). Haven't had time to see what else might not be working.

Edit 2: Having crashes when trying to print files also. Still no luck with the 12.0.4 update.

Thanks for the updates...please keep them coming! I’m about to install CS5 on a new mini with mojave and am following this thread closely to see what issues may arise.

Haven't had time to do further testing. So far it's just printing and the type tool that are causing crashes. I can live without the type tool and hope to find a solution to the printing problem.
