Brother L2700DW: Duplex Now Too Complex
#11
so back to the duplex issue, did you try to reset the printing system?

Go to system preferences, open the Printers and control-click in that left window where you see the printers listed

the warning message said it would delete all my printers and settings. i assume that means i have to then re-enter the settings for both printers which is not on my to-do this for this evening but i will try it tomorrow. thanks.

as for the MFC-J835DW, you said you reset network settings. does that mean you disconnected wifi in the printer completely from your network and connected the printer to your system ONLY by ethernet?

Yes, deleted WiFi and changed to LAN. AirPrint works.

just checked. i'm not seeing an ethernet jack on the inkjet. there's a jack for connecting a telephone type jack (and another jack for a real telephone) for faxing but i'm not seeing an ethernet. i'll check the manual tomorrow.

in mine it is INSIDE the printer. You lift the top, under scanner, and there you find USB and Ethernet, and a path to run the cable out to the back.

Ok, i have now opened orifices on this inkjet that I never even knew existed.

i did find a USB port under the hood. this model may not have an ethernet option. Connected via USB and even enabled Share Printer on network. i can print from my computer. AirPrint doesn't see it.

I have a 5ghz band and a 2.4ghz band broadcasting from my router. Airprint only works if the device (computer, iphone, or ipad) are on the same band.

I don't think this is the case. My L2700DW is right next to the router, so it's connected via Ethernet and isn't on any WiFi network. AirPrint to that printer from my iPhone over WiFi works fine.
