….he's had very few takers for the EV truck….
This surprises me.
He told me that just last week. I'm not a truck guy and have no particular opinion about these myself.

They don't sell well in farm country or rural areas where people need their trucks to do truck things like towing and there aren't charging stations available.

Dealership in question is in a small town in peanut country.

Grady White boats either does, or did, have a clause in their new sales contracts that the owner had to offer to sell the boat back to Grady first, before it could be sold used. Grady usually bought them back to protect the new sale numbers. Mastercraft ski boats may have as well.
My old room mate and best friend is the big motor outboard mechanic for the biggest Grady dealership in the area. Former service dept head for Mastercraft NW in Portland. It was all legal because of the offer was declined, they were free to sell.

No, a Volt/Bolt/Leaf/Whatever car would be ideal for this. Not a truck. It MIGHT make sense for delivery trucks that run between sites, but Transit vans are pretty much the standard for those now.

They haven't been on the market long enough and have been in such short supply that there is no way to judge whether they sell well in those areas. Also, they can tow just fine and you don't need a charging station unless you're traveling really long distances. Almost all EV owners charge at home.

Ford will sell enough that they won’t need the rednecks as buyers. But maybe if they install external speakers so they can pipe ICE sounds out into the environment, they’ll sell to those buyers. Might also need a black smoke machine as part of the package.
