Hey guys, just thinking outside the box here, but maybe we should reduce our dependence on fossil fuels?
If anything good comes out of this, it'll be that this pushes us even more quickly toward EV's and other non-fossil fuel based alternatives...
We "already" have mandates to shift our entire production of motor vehicles sales to electric by 2035 in California. Biden's more modest goal is half by 2030 (8 years from now) and billions have been included in the Infrastructure bill to build out a nationwide charging network.
All we have to do is keep voting in the right people. Then we get what we want.

My views don't mesh with those in my community, so I don't get what I want.

"Local" as in the whole state.
Washington State? I don't get it. Jay, Maria and Patty. The land of a caucus AND a primary?

I have had conversations with 2 national level elected officials who "represent" me. One told me their beliefs were different, and they had to vote their conscience. NOT what their constituents want, what THEY wanted Another told me that I was in the minority, and as such, my views didn't count when it was time to vote.

Racer X may be referring to combined cycle gas turbine plants that can reach efficiencies of 60-64%. The hot exhaust from a gas turbine is used to generate steam for a steam turbine for additional power production. A fossil fueled steam generation plant maxes out at around 42% efficiency, so Lux Interior is correct for that type of electrical power generation. That is still better than your usual gas auto engine, max efficiency is in the 25-30% range.
Only a fraction of the electrical generation plants are combined cycle. Some steam powered plants gain some additional thermal efficiency by using the low pressure steam as a heat source for either industrial operations nearby, or residential/commercial heating.

Yeah, I’m sure his figures are for combined cycle plants. Did not realize they weren’t the majority, thanks Joe.
