Call me a Neanderthal if you like but I buy, drink and enjoy Folgers. I think most of the fancy-schmancy coffees are way over-rated.

Does MacDonalds actually use the same coffee throughout the country? I saw the Consumer Report article, too, but if they mentioned that, I missed reading it. I know for a very long time the Macs around here were serving Seattle's Best, but I certainly wasn't getting that countrywide when I drove Washington to Florida and back a couple of years ago. I haven't bought any coffee for a long time anywhere but one little drive through espresso place that uses Illy.

We used to have a coffee shop and used only Illy. We were in direct competition with a Starbucks about a block away. It seems people either love Starbucks or hate it. The people who preferred ours always complained about the burnt taste of the 'bucks stuff.

Now I want a really great mocha, but the closest shop serving Illy is 12 miles away, so getting one won't be happening. Sad

If coffee doesn't give me a buzz it's not good coffee. McD's ain't got the buzz. A Venti SBUX Sumatra sets me up for the day. I don't care what CR says.

The Poochie household always has a pot of Joe from Porto Rico brewing in the percolator, but if I am out on the road and need a decent cuppa coffee, a local convenience store chain makes a fine brew that outdoes any national chain. It even makes an "Extreme Caffeine" version with twice the stimulant!

Coffee, yes, I can see how McD's would beat SBux, but Cinnamon Dolce Lattes? McD's ain't got sh** on those!!!

Last time I got coffee at McD's it was Newman's.
Not too bad.

Many swear by White Castle coffee.

And they've been doing it longer than either McD's or CharBux.
