There's hope, but not much.
A few years ago I left my day planner stuffed with cash and credit cards in a rental car up in Michigan, (thanks to my wife hiding it under the seat so a burglar couldn't find it.) A week later I got a package from Georgia. Someone who rented the car found my stuff and sent it to me. There was a receipt for the shipping and they only took the money they spent on shipping. There are good people out there.
