Review of my MRI...may contain spoilers :-)
#11
I had to go through X-rays before I had an MRI. Apparently, if there is the possibility of embedded metal particulate in your body; it will heat up during an MRI.

I worked six years in a heavy equipment manufacturing facility. Grinding dust every where.

I had one once, years ago. Fell asleep inside the tube. I was worried I might have moved while I was asleep (a big no-no), but for naught.

[quote Greg the dogsitter]Scratch first.
That's easier said than done. I have at least three itches on my body at any one time. I could be constantly scratching. Some stories I've read say it's a bilirubin deficiency? Which would coincide with my liver problems.

But, I've had many MRIs done and only ONCE did it bother me. I was in a TUBE (not open-sided) for 4 or 5 hours and that really got to me. I had to pee badly and they really did not want me to get out, too. But I just had to go. That was one of the longest afternoon and nights.

I also worked at a foundry, and did metal work including grinding. (as an aside, my arms were constantly RUSTING from all the metal that splattered into my upper arms. Little rust specs like freckles. Got metal in my eyes. They are ALWAYS worried about the metal in my eyes each time during MRIs. But, haven't had an issue yet.

Want to see even greater resolution? Get a cerebral angiogram. Which is what they ordered after the 5 hour MRI for me. Of course they did not tell me the risks of the thing before they started it. Sad

But, it was NEAT to see it happen.
