Our neighbor had a dead cat in his tree for a least 6 months.
My daughter noticed it while riding home on the school bus. The cat had been chased up the tree by his dog. It was about 35' up in a aspen tree. It fell some how and got jammed in the fork of 2 smaller branches. It was winter and I think it must have freeze dried because it was their for a least 6 months.

Yeah I should have taken some pictures. The tree had died so it stayed in view the whole time. It was a black cat and as time went on its hair gradually bleached from the sun. It ended up kind of chocolate brown.

I think it was one of the Police Story movies where two officers respond to a call about a cat stuck in a tree. They tell the distraught owner not to worry - they'll get the cat down. Then one of the officers takes out his gun and shoots it.
