Anyone know of a good deal on a USB wifi adapter?

[quote Ombligo]Belkin makes a USB wifi "connection thingee" that works well. I had it on my son's G3 before upgrading him to a mini.
Do you still have it? Want to sell it?

Why not burn some CDs and let her play them on the Mac or in a CD player?

You could also, after you establish a network connection in her room, share a single playlist from your iTunes library, and let her subscribe. Can't delete music out of a shared iTunes library or playlist, and it has the exact same look and feel of a regular playlist running in iTunes. You could customize it just for her - only music she likes, etc.

So will this work on her iMac? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...No=3529100&CatId=2688

It's USB 2.0 and her iMac is more than likely USB 1.1. It should work, but at a slower speed... Right?

You could setup two user id's on the computer, one for you and one for her, and put the itunes library at the root level. You would setup the permissions so you have full abilities but she only has read abilities. That would prevent her from deleting things.

btw, how old is your daughter? I've found that my kids learn really really fast and can do amazing things with the computers.

She's 4. I'm not worried about her being able to figure it out as much as I am worried about her deleting things. She is very good on the computer, so much so that she defeats the Simple Finder with restrictions on application use and is able to open pretty much anything she wants.

I like the wi-fi/iTunes idea. That would allow me to add songs quickly. It would also open her up to some Noggin website usage.

simplest solution is to load up her iTunes library and then make her Music folder non-writeable. You can do that from the Terminal

chmod -r u-w ~/Music

or via the Finder
