MobileMe - even slower than dotMac

Got it under preferences. Calendar navigation is actually snappy.

I think they should put the guy who's implementing this whole thing on unpaid leave until he can get his stuff together.

[quote $tevie]I hate the name MobileMe and I hate the idea of a dot.me account (thank goodness I can still use dot.mac) and I hate the fact that Apple couldn't plan ahead a little better and I hate the fact that two weeks ago all my emails that I had left on their server disappeared, after being stored perfectly safely for three years, due to no reason that I can find at all. Phooey.
If you hate MobileMe, and hate .mac, you can save $99 a year by not voluntarily signing up for it and purchasing it annually.

I hate the idea of people hating ideas, but using their credit cards and personal checks to support the ideas they hate. Again and again. I just hate that!

"Dot Mac" is a much, much stupider name than MobileMe. If I can go my whole life without ever having to say "Dot Mac" again, and Apple kills the name "Dot Mac" permanently, ten minutes from now, it won't be soon enough.

"Mobile Me" brings Mike Myers to mind. I can't help it, it just does.

Guitarist: Steve Jobs didn't give any of us a choice. He just changed the service. So far we haven't had a chance to vote by leaving our credit cards in our pockets, so there's no reason to be snarky. MobileMe stinks so far, and unless you own an iPhone, it's pretty useless now. People have a right to sound off about that. If you don't like it, take advice that is similar to that which you give everyone else, and stop reading.

I've never had a problem with dotMac before that I considered significant; other than the slowness of iDisk access. So I've never had a complaint prior to this; and people not being able to access their email via a web interface is a pretty ill-planned transition if you ask me.

That little rant of yours would make a lot more sense if I knew it was going to become MobileMe back on October 15th when I re-upped. And I never said I hated dot.mac. I said I hated "dot.me". So that's a double-no-senser.

Yes, MobileMe makes me think of MiniMe. At best, it sounds like some sort of Baby Einstein add-on.

If it will make you happy, guitarist, there's a real good chance I won't be re-upping come October. Three (or was it four?) years of perfectly good dot.Mac use may be going down the toilet.

I'm with Stevie.

Dot.me is a stupid name.

That I haven't been able to access it is even more stupid.

Anyway, here's the latest message:

No wonder it wasn't clear. There never was anything called "dot.mac"

Isn't that two dots? is that dot, dot mac? And dot, dot me? Next thing you know, it'll be morse code.

A lot of people "hate" the temporary problems and inconvenience they're enduring for a few days while Apple is scrambling to get the service up and running. In three days, they'll like it just fine. By this time next week, they'll have forgotten the transition inconvenience. And three weeks later, will think it's the greatest thing since OS X.
