Gilbert Godfrey's Dirty Jokes is stupid fun that might be a hoot when viewed in a group.
How funny it actually is might depend a lot on the amount of outside stimulants, though.
And I'm not sure I would actually purchase it.

I'm really like Jeff Dunham. Not raunchy but absolutely hilarious.

Mitch Hedberg

Eddie Murphy - Raw or Delirious. Both classics.

another vote for Bill Hicks, a real wit gone LONG before his time. sad.

and another vote for Brian Regan ("oxen. geesen?")) hehe

i think one of the all-time funny solo performances is Bill Cosby in "Himself" -- corny and restrained in some cases but really funny.

I'll also recommend Eddie Izzard "Dress To Kill", Chris Rock, and of course Lewis Black.

Eddie Izzard

Specifically, his DVD "Dressed To Kill"

Also check out the east Indian comic, Russell Peters. You can view some of his work on YouTube. He's the Indian version of Eddie.
