I passed a station in NH yesterday that was $3.39 cash only. I filled up here in MA at $3.41 credit. No shortages.

It's the biggest crock of bull I've ever seen. I've talked to two people that
are in the know and have told me that the Tank Farm in Greensboro is sitting full. I've seen the place several times and it's huge. I honestly think that people believe that gas comes straight from the pipeline right into the truck, it doesn't work that way. They told on WBT radio just a half hour ago that relief is mysteriously coming overnight and things will be back to normal in a day or two. I don't think it's possible to full that many tanks that quickly. When Katrina came through and actually damaged the pipeline they jacked the price up but we weren't running out gas. I believe it's happening because of what distributors are wanting to charge to fill the tanks that the station owners are refusing to pay and waiting for a price drop. ![]()

Its a distribution issue, not a shortage issue.

From what I've also heard, Grateful11 is correct. As stated, the stations in Atlanta are really hit or miss, most it seems are without. You can tell the stations that have gas by the long lines blocking traffic on the road leading up to the station.
Our "wonderful" gov'nor made a statement that the gas shortage is due to people topping off. I'm not sure what he's smoking b/c you can barely find a station with gas to even top off. On a brighter note, the gas shortage and prices led our babysitter to cancel her planned trip to Asheville this weekend. So, impromptu date night for the wife and I. ![]()

We live So CA. No shortage here. If there is I will still be lucky because I live 3 miles away from my first job and 8 miles from my second job. I could either ride the bike or take just the same bus to either job. It would be tougher on my S/O because her office is 50 miles of highway driving!
