I haven't had one as far back as I can remember. Will be getting one for our daughter though.
Just got my flu shot. How about YOU?

I've never had one. I get a mild case of the flu about once every 6 or 7 years.

I don't believe in them. I may have had 1 flu shot in the last 40 or so years.

Got one on campus last week. Free. Done it for the past 7 years now. No flu during that time. Not claiming causality, but the correlation is pretty strong for the general public.
However, the causality link is well established for high-risk medical conditions as the PRISMA study concluded: Persons with high-risk medical conditions of any age can substantially benefit from annual influenza vaccination during an epidemic. The PRISMA study was a large n study with subjects from ages 2-80 that took place from 1999-2001 in the Netherlands. It's hard to argue with the data. There's a connection between getting the vaccine and the incidence of influenza. It's not a placebo. http://tinyurl.com/5fys7t

Due to my line of work I'm exposed to every bug that happens through our corner of the world so I get one every year. Last year my nurse friend, uh, borrowed one from the clinic for me, since I have no health insurance. It wasn't too long ago they could be had for about $5 but now it seems to be a profit center for Safeway and Rite Aid.

I have always had health insurance and no matter what carrier I have had, they have never covered the flu shot.
I have pretty severe asthma, so the shot is a must for so I shell out the $25 or whatever it is. DM

The county Dept. of Health ran a free (well, not if you consider taxes) drive-through shot deal last week. My college drove vans back and forth and we all stuck our arms outside and got one.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago with no problems at all.

why is the flu virus spreading easier during the winter months than during the summer?

Hmm. Feels like something is scratching it's way out. Wait a sec....
Think I need a shot of something... To tamp this thing down. Ugh.... whoa. Whew. It went away. |
