There is no reason for buying these kids an LCD

check out craigslist - there are HUGE CRTs going for nothing...

if the kids want more, let them earn it

Never ever allow computers or TV's in bedrooms. I have two honor
students in college on scholarships to prove what I say. We set up a
small spot in our very large Den for computers and they had video
games in the living room. We were, for the most part, aware of what
our two sons were doing online and how much time they were spending
on video games. They knew if their grades starting slipping what would
happen.

I just bought a $20 TV - only 14" and portable. It will not be hooked up to a signal. Game Cube time will be closely monitored.

I'll go in the other direction, biggest tv possible for the gamecube. When playing two person games, splitting the screen, it's best to have maximum realestate.

I hate split screen games - they suck even on my 50".
