The tale of two sleepovers
#11
There was a non-steamed, veggie tray in the fridge, too. I should have noted that.

Yes. I was present during video games. And the OTHER kids are the ones that have violent games they brought over. I still would rather them play a game called Good Samaritan, or Clean Your Room Up in Less than 20 Days! Smile

(her) Going to bed now, so you can stop listening to the crying and she can catch up with needed sleep might be a good idea.

You could also keep her awake with the threat of eating all the leftover pizza without her as soon as she falls asleep.

Yeah, there was no physical way to keep her awake. It's like she spent the night under police interrogation. Smile

Dang,, you had a veggie tray and supervised during the couple of hours while they played video games?? I can't bust your chops anymore,, you win the Mister Rogers parenting reward of the day.

LMAO!

Okay, how about this. During my wife's supervisory time, she let them play with sparklers, and from the looks of it they did not don protective eyewear. I've asked her to schedule a session with the marriage counselor. This should be a JUICY session! Smile

Don't let your daughter sleep too long. It will upset even more her already upset sleep schedule. If she sleeps too long she won't want to go to bed at her regular time. Make sure she's up 4 to 5 hours ahead of her normal sleep hour.

My 6 y.o. daughter would fit into the same category. She's not one to say that she's tired and want to go to bed. We need to encourage her to go to bed when it's time. She'll stay up as long as she can, if there is activity going on.

Since you are on good terms with those parents, you may gently want to ask them what happened. Let them know that your daughter was a basket case due to the lack of sleep.

If I remember correctly from when I was little, I'm pretty sure the point of sleepovers IS to stay up all night.

I don't see the big deal. Your daughter is upset which upsets you. Put her to sleep for a few hours and she'll catch up tonight.

Big deal? No. Not at all.
Scuttle plans for morning. Yes.
Why don't kids have a 'wake over', get them up EARLY (3 am) and let them play and drop over by 7 pm?
