Does the visual media really have to serve up the pic of a needle sticking into someone's arm every time the flu is mentioned ?
Even the cold syrup manufacturers offer symptoms to entice the purchasing of thier products.

is it at all possible to tell a cold apart from swine flu? considering that most people experience "mild" symptoms, it seems entirely possible to have it without realizing or distinguishing it from another cold or flu.

Just got back from CVS/Minute Clinic. No test to confirm but whatever I caught 10 days ago it was most likely H1N1. It was painful! I am still fighting the dry cough, lethargy and difficulty breathing. I can't get any flu shot because I am not completely well yet.

I think I had it early in the summer but I wasn't tested so I have no way of knowing for sure. As strange as it sounds to say, I hope I had it.

Like AllGold I had something early last summer (mid May... well, late spring) and thought that it might be the swine flu. I'd had the seasonal flu vaccination last fall and had a short bout of flu in March so I thought the second bout would have been swine flu. Then I got a seasonal flu shot earlier this month and had a stronger than usual reaction to the shot... so who knows. I'll just have to wait and see.

Earlier in March of this year I also had a minor case of flu. This time around it was the symptoms were 5x worse.
BTW, the RN at the CVS/Minute Clinic confirmed that once I got the H1N1 I would be immune to it. However, I would still have to deal with other flu as there are 200 of them!

I had decided to skip it, but I probably got it by clicking on this thread.
