Are you intentionally misunderstanding this? Whether people are free to discuss such topics is not the issue, and many threads discuss sports scores, exciting TV show episodes, cliffhangers, and the like. However, almost everybody who does that has the courtesy to not reveal the ending or spoil the cliffhanger in the subject line of their thread. Many people also clearly label threads with spoilers by typing the word "spoilers". This is just standard forum (or watercooler) etiquette. Intentionally putting spoilers in subject lines, whether it is sports, battlestar galactica episodes, newly released whodunit movies, american idol winners or whatever, is plain rude.

I understand it completely, thanks. I think the problem you're having is that you're stating something as fact that isn't so. Not sure if perhaps you're purposely not acknowledging that people are going to and in fact do discuss outcomes of games or movies, etc. many places, including forums (even in thread titles at times). It's silly to think one can live in a bubble and not be exposed to it. I'll assume you don't listen to the radio or flip through tv channels after a game has finished but prior to you being able to view your recording. They constantly announce scores, etc. If you're willing to wall yourself off from that example, surely you can see that an internet forum is no different. I mean, it's not like seconds before they are going to ruin it for everyone by reporting a score they announce, "for those of you that tuned in to hear the scores but don't really wanna know what happened, you should not listen". There are no spoiler alerts anywhere else for the most part but it's expected in an internet forum? Really? It's nice if someone does it but when you expect it, it then becomes a demand. Again, I don't do it and I even avoided earlier in a thread about the game but I assuredly wouldn't get my blood pressure up over something so meaningless had someone else done it. It's just crazy.

Most of us apparently have higher standards than you when it comes to expectations. And for you to keep responding in this thread the way you do, then i think your blood pressure is definitely up regarding your OPINION that nobody agrees with . . . :dunno:

I am sorry if I spoiled anyone's pleasure to watch the "losers" fight for a 3rd place. I will make damn sure I won't post anything about the main game today.

I'm just making an observation based on experiences. If that makes me wrong, so be it.

As for no one agreeing, I'll take that to mean you haven't read the posts above that at least in part share my OPINION (as if it's bad to have one) that to be that bothered about something as trivial as a sporting event is pretty silly. Tell ya what, I'm comfortable enough to not post anymore about it so you don't get the wrong idea about my well being. It's just just a shame how people are so quick to rip someone for something so meaningless.

The original OP was hardly a spoiler and there are certain persons here with nothing better to do than correct other people's spelllings and grammar and any little miniscule faux pas that irritates the world that apparently revolves around thier petty little entitled spoiled existence.

Fact, I wouldn't have clicked on this thread if the title wasn't there as it was and was miffed that there wasn't any more information.

You can't spoil sporting events to me. They're not narratives. If I miss a game, I check the score. The outcome has occurred. I get the scores on my EVO.

I remember when they'd show the NBA Finals at 11:30 at night in L.A. People would avoid the score all day long. The game had long ago been decided. If they lost I didn't watch. If they won, then it was more fun to watch.

If you know nothing about the tournament I guess you could come to that conclusion. However, if you are following the tournament the thread subject line has no information other than announce who won the game so is 100% spoiler.
