Skip NYC, go to Montreal, Laramie, Boise... someplace, anyplace, w/o parking hassles that still has fun things to do... or not.
Traveling to NYC (Manhattan). Long-term parking options?

There is another story about a guy who would take his car in for an oil change every day at a shop in manhattan, the mechanics didn't understand why he kept coming back until the guy told them it was cheaper to pay them to keep the car versus paying at a real parking lot.

Whenever I go to the city and need to bring the car, I usually park on the west side, around the 10th Avenue, 15-20th Streets. There are a number of car parks in that area that offer reasonable rates. I'll leave the car there for a day or four.
Also, here are a couple of resources for you to peruse: http://nyc.bestparking.com/index.php http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/html/parking...rking/site&zoomifyX=0.0336570851610079&zoomifyY=0.0254589355451197&zoomifyZoom=80 I can park for free in New Jersey (at a friends house), but I find that to be more hassle than it's worth. Park the car, then get a lift to the NJ Transit, take the train - it's a bit of a pain, especially if I'm purchasing stuff in the city. Good Luck |
