yeah, right. I must know a lot of four-pack-a-day smokers, then.
It's funny 'coz it's true!

The ONLY reason I use it is to keep current with the grandkids. They've forgotten that email or the phone exists. I don't post there, and keep my account (minimal info) locked down as tight as allowed, almost like one-way glass.

So if I post a question asking which Macbook is the best, am I gonna get a bunch of replies from malcontents telling me laptops are stupid?

Evidently you will.
I too was wondering why so many feel compelled to try to impress us with the fact that they don't use Facebook. I don't drive but I don't jump onto every "which car should I buy" thread to broadcast it.

I took a little time this morning to bounce around threads posting that I don't do this or that. It was not all that satisfying, so I still don't get the point.

I am going to be careful with it. I have a lot of controls on mine. You info is useful. I think you just have to set parameters on the experience, so that it is not used as advertising. If not it just becomes noise. But it has really been amazing, for slowly getting back in touch with people. Like sitting on the steps at the pool, next thing you know you are in the water. The internet and forums are a fun diversion, but not a substitute for person to person contact, picking up the phone and hearing emotion in a voice, and actually getting out and doing things. FB is reconnecting me to people I want to see and do things with. |
