If they bought Senheisser, nobody would say anything. Apple buys companies all the time. But they bought this company.
Man, that would have been a better acquisition, and no, I don't mind some diversity for the primarily old white guy Apple corporate culture. We just needed better talent. If RZA, DJ Premier, and Prince Paul were acquired along with a better brand of product, I would be applauding the move.

Dr. Dre is an icon who sold a bunch of records because the music was bumpin'. West Coast (my preference). RZA, Premier and Prince Paul are niches. Only people "in the know" follow RZA for example (who "is" amazingly talented).

Only people in the know have heard of the Wu-Tang Clan? Really?
Dr Dre doesn't do it for me at all since the Chronic and Doggystyle (the latter he may not have even produced!!!!!). Don't know, modern mainstream Hip-HPop isn't my thing. It's like when Industrial broke through and every third rate Nine Inch Nails act got signed. Thanks, but I'll pass. Give me some Cabaret Voltaire, KMFDM, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Revolting C*cks, etc. You can have your Gravity Kills and Marilyn Manson.

Modern, mainstream Hip Hop is what people are buying. Kendrick Lamar, Two Chainz et. al. It doesn't matter what we like. It's what the kids like. Dre is from my generation of Hip Hop though he remains relevant in popularity, influence and sales. But more than anything, he's respected as an innovative force worldwide.
Oh, and I'm sure you realize we're discussing the antics of the lives of the One Percent.

let the rhythm hit 'em: if Apple had got Eric B. and Rakim to help them develop and market products, they'd have gotten a bargain and maybe a whole new niche. but I prefer east coast.*
*Tupac excepted.

Hip-Hop's slogan, "Here today, gone today."
I think that was Grandmaster Flash in an NPR interview.

Eric B. and Rakim could help develop some fly boom boxes.
