I was using AmazonBasics but found Ray-O-Vac to be cheaper and longer lasting.

Duracell has excellent Customer Service. When a Maglight flashlight was damaged after Coppertops leaked, I got a check that covered replacement costs and, coupons for twice the number of batteries. NOTE: I did have to send the Maglight back to Duracell (in CT) but they acted quickly.

what are these "pro" TVtronics with proprietary batts?

Also you can clean Alkaline white stuff stuff with vinegar, you won't even be able to tell there was a leak. Use Q tips, vinegar, and you can save that one-of-a-kind-hard-to-find item.

I've done that, at times. Or steel wool depending on the item.

Comms and RF mics are all proprietary now and no 2 manufacturers use the same. They all have their own charging station and you can only buy OEM.

ALL alkaline batteries are garbage imo...

Plus they are so damned toxic not t good thing to throw away...

I'd agree, but all batts are toxic for trash.
He77, everything we make is toxic in one way or another.
that's why we need to get rid of 'one use and trash it' kinda stuff

I don't buy Duracell anymore, the last decade I have seen near 100% leakage. Though my son recently replaced the Duracell batteries in his infrequently used Maglite purchased at least a dozen years ago and they had not leaked

I have one batch of AA's from them, all but 2 never used, and the unused ones all leaked in storage. Those were bought about 5 years ago. Since I won't be getting anymore from them, not worth calling in and getting coupons for replacement.

Going back a few years ago, there were reports that you could get decent batteries from Duracell if you stuck with specific types and manufacturing locations. But that no longer seems to apply to any of their stuff.

I don't put alkaline batteries into remotes anymore. They leak too much.

I use lithium batteries for remotes.

I use Li rechargeables too, because - well - they're rechargeable.

The copper tops were garbage years ago - decades ago.

They leaked like a sieve, and I switched back to Eveready Alkaline batteries.

They'e never leaked. Not once, in my years of using them.

It's not surprising that Kirkland batteries leak. It seems to me they're rebadged Duracells which Costco hawks.

I haven't bought a disposable battery in years. Tody's rechargeables last nearly as long and save you $$$.
