It appears to be a really nice car for the money. I wonder if people leased them and decided they didn’t meet their needs? That’s what happened with the car I just bought. They lived in rural Colorado and found it was difficult to do the long distances, so it only had 3500 miles on it. Perhaps they were dealer demos? They are almost the same car as the Chevy equinox, but I like them better and they are cheaper. I don’t know how it wouldn’t be a good deal.

If you're hardset against Tesla, I'd go with a Hyundai/Kia.

That’s the conventional wisdom (and it’s not wrong), but they are not without their problems, and used prices for them, especially the AWD ones has gone up quite a bit in the last few months, which is what caused me to look for alternatives. I avoided the single engine ones because they are rear wheel drive which isn’t great in snow, whereas some single engine EVs are front wheel drive, which would be good in the snow. If you don’t have snow, no problem either way. I would get AWD no matter what because they are faster, given I can afford it of course.

Probably the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (or the Kia version).
Also, take a look at the Ford Mach-E and the Chevy Equinox EV (and the equivalent Honda Prologue as mentioned).
The Mach-E has been around for a while so there should be used ones available, which will come in under your budget.
You probably won't find any Equinox EVs used because they haven't been out for long. (There is also the factor that I personally don't trust GM, but that's just me.)
I saw a Subaru EV the other day but I know nothing about it--other than it looked like it was a Toyota with Subaru logos on it.

I really like my Volvo XC 40 Recharge. At a glance, the prices seem to be in your range, but I am not sure which model is which price. I have 2024 Twin Ultimate, but Twin Plus should also fit the bill. You would probably be looking at 2022 for ~30K.

This is a good one too. I think they got a bigger battery in 2023, which is worth checking on (I’m not sure of the year).because it’s the difference between enough and not enough.

Not a pure EV, but I saw another option today that I hadn't thought about.
I was at a Ford dealer today getting some scheduled maintenance done and they had new 2024 Escape plug-in hybrid they are are blowing out for more than $12K off, as "employee pricing for all." It has a 37 mile EV only range.
