How does YouTube work on the iPad, if there is no Flash support?

I have 7 videos on my YouTube favorites and 2 don't play - so around 25% for me.

The other ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_424YskAfew ) is private per YouTube.com on my Mac, after 100k+ plays. "This video does not currently support iPhone" on my iPhone. So I guess it is 1/7 then that don't play, and 1/7 with incorrect error messages.
