Poll: you must pick ONE item for the zombie apocalypse
#41
You bring bullets and snacks...
I'll bring rifles and soda...

I'd have to escape from Oakland and hightail it up there and dispose of the locals. I'll hit Costco on my way up.

I'll pick... a fully stocked high-walled military compound.

FWIW, the discussion about caliber is relevant. If it takes the destruction of the hindbrain to kill the Zombie, then a widdly little .22 requires major precision .

First rule of zombie apocalypse is to ALWAYS double tap. A .22 would be fine.

Alls I would need is a sharp stick. Heavy enough to swing like a club, then the pointy part to finish them off.

Up here where it's cold most of the time, the Zs would probably freeze up for the better part of the year anyway. It would most likely be a seasonal problem, like mosquitoes.

I used to think Michonne had it right with the samurai sword, and within the realities of The Walking Dead, I think she does. I got to thinking about it, though, and I don't know a lot about swords, but something tells me slicing the top of a dozen zombie skulls would start to leave that blade in a pretty sorry state. I imagine there'd be at least a moderate amount of maintenance involved to keep the blade in the shape she has it in on the show.

As it is, though, that thing works about as close to a light saber as anything you'll probably find.

I just need bullets for Paul F. Probably my safest bet. Also the best bet for successful marauding post-apocalypse.

Okay, I'm going to go down eventually, so I want to go with a smile on my face.

So I'll take a tall, leggy redhead with no morals.

Zombified or non-zombified?
How do you tell the difference?

22 is tough to get in any real quantity now as is 9mm.

How about a SBR AR-15 chambered in 300 Blackout? Only issue is ammo availability.

Right NOW, sure...
But some of us have 10,000 rounds of .22 squirreled away... Hey, this brand/lot works best in this rifle, this one in that pistol... (bad part is, my best target pistol will only feed some Winchester standard velocity ammo made in the late 60's, and I only have 3000 rounds of that left!).

An SBR would be darn near perfect, as would the Blackout... but as you say, ammo availability will kill ya! Won't find many deserted homes with caches of .300 Blackout!
