Gun owners commit less crime

And yet you gleefully accuse those who disagree with you of being anti-American, anti-democracy, anti-"freedom"; telling them they should leave the county. The arrogance is unfathomable!

What actual sacrifices have YOU made for the U,S. (aside from claiming militia cosplay)?

Deusxmac cannot win an argument on the subject so he goes on private attacks.
How about Mr654 defend himself?

wowzer wrote: But to the subject at hand, the belief that a person should be responsible for their own safety is not a new one. It is a fundamental right to defend oneself. Yet, the anti gunners would have only criminals access to firearms.

Bare assertion fallacy – a claim that is presented as true without support, as self-evidently true, or as dogmatically true.

As for my views on firearms, for most of my life I never really thought about them, until corrupt politicians began making banning of guns an issue. I decided to take it upon myself to learn about the topic. It became very clear that those fighting to take away our rights have no clue what they are talking about and for me that is a problem. They lie, deliver gross disinformation and pander to the weak in their efforts to stay in control

Absolutely. I never fired a firearm until 2016. My wife told me to buy one because it looked like Hillary was going to win and crime would become even more rampant. I bought a mossberg 500 and began to read and learn about firearms. If you need instructional, go watch Paul Harrell. He is quite informative and stays clean of politics.

After reading about how police aren’t required to come save you, I realized that the courts expect you to be your own first responder. The Joe Lozito case really brings out this point. You are responsible for your own safety.
The root motivation - and justification; conscious or subconscious - for gun ownership is FEAR.
- Fear of the “bad guy”
- Fear of the “others”
- Fear of all unknowns

This fear is expressed at three progressively obsessive states:
1. Caution: They might come!
2. Fear-manifest: They are coming!
3. Paranoia: They are here!

There are also ancillary, fear-related supporting motivations:
- Machismo/manliness - Fear of appearing weak, effeminate
- Peer pressure - Fear of being ostracized by friends, being excluded

Even if you are, in fact, part of this collection of military wannabes, a bunch of gun lovers self-proclaiming themselves as such in no way constitute the real “well regulated Militia” of the 2nd Amendment whatsoever!

More like the Proud Boys than the actual National Guard!

wowzer wrote: Again, the militia is made up of every US citizen who are NOT in the military. Those who are currently serving are the uniformed military. A militia is comprised of irregulars.

Proof by assertion – a proposition is repeatedly restated regardless of contradiction.

wowzer wrote: As for being a gun lover, what’s wrong with that? There are car lovers, with deaths from car crashes about the same as for all cause gun deaths. There are lovers of wine and alcohol, which kills twice as many by guns. There are people who smoke, which account for 5 times the number for gun deaths.

The fallacious and absurd, but forever trotted out by gun-lovers howl of "guns and cars and alcohol and cigarettes are all the same"!

False equivalence – describing two or more statements as virtually equal when they are not.

wowzer wrote: Then, of course, the fact that violent crimes have dropped over the last 40 years, while gun ownership has increased. While association is not causation, it is telling that ever higher rates of gun ownership doesn’t associate with worsening violent crimes.

Another specious false equivalence; "violent crimes" are not equivalent to gun-related incidents (which include suicides).

wowzer wrote: However, the BLM and antifa riots and defunding of police clearly have association with increased murders and violent crimes.

Bare assertion fallacy – a claim that is presented as true without support, as self-evidently true, or as dogmatically true.

You make stock replies and naysay. At the end of the day, you are simply unwilling to discuss merits. You assert false equivalence and pretend that is a legitimate response.

You believe in false dogma spread by your masters in school and bleat like it’s truth.

When you parrot illogical opinions we will call you on it.

If you cannot understand the illogic of your positions when explained, then reasoned, constructive exchanges are impossible.

So full of it. I’m fairly sure my logic is better and stronger than yours.
