The new Camaro is a beauty. I've had 2 mustangs. It took GM 10 years to get it out. They did well. The Entry RS 6 gets 305hp and 29 HWY MPG? Good work GM. Keep it up.
The Challenger is huge. It's also good looking tho. The platform is the previous Mercedes E series. Can't really complain about that.

Any new muscle car beats any old muscle car simply based on the brakes, creature comforts, suspension and electronics. An Editor at Car Craft said as much a few years ago when he as sitting in hot LA traffic in a new Mustang GT with the air on freezing, no issues, no headaches, etc.

That old stuff is essentially gigantic engines stuffed in lumberwagon chassis with really bad brakes and with suspension that at times had not changed significantly since the 1600s (many coaches in that period used leaf spring-style suspension).

These are hard words for me to swallow at times as when I was a teen and in my 20s I loved muscle cars. I had as my high school car a 1969 Chevelle SS396.

They are kind of cool to look at, today, but it ends there.

I'm not a big fan of any of the new retro designs for one major reason (touched upon above). They all seem to sit sooo high up like they were catering to the SUV crowd. The door sills are higher than my roofline (ok, maybe an exaggeration)!

I see the camaro here in town at least once every 2-3 days. They no doubt will be popping up more and more as they seem to be a big hit. I think they will be "dated" really quickly which is the true genius behind the design. People will bore of them and want something new in a few years.

I can see why some like the cars but they just aren't for me. I can respect the power to a degree but still too big and bulky. Like a small truck almost.

I like them. However, I'm an 80's guy and really liked the t-tops. I've currently got a 1995 Red Z/28 with leather and t-tops that I really enjoy driving.

I'm hopeful GM continues to produce this so that their value plummets and I can get one cheap in a few years Smile I'm not paying $30k for one now that will only be worth $10K in five years.

On the flip side, if I were going to pay 30K for a Camaro - why wouldn't I just get one of the originals that will not depreciate nearly like these new ones will? I also had a 1968 Camaro with a 327 when I was in High School. My dad and I restored it and it was a lot of fun.

IF I were going to get one, I'd get the SS all the way. My chevy dealer here in town has had an SS and an LT sitting in the front of his lot for two weeks now. They haven't moved.

I rode in the Camaro in my photos. It did not feel "high up" like a(n) SUV.

I was surprised that it gets 29 mpg (est) highway. Then again, if I were buying that, I'd get the V8.

My wife and I had somewhat decided to buy one next year but kind of
went the opposite direction and bought a Prius.

I've driven the V6 model with the flappy paddles. Wasn't too shabby. Just don't try to turn your head to check your blindspot, you won't be able to see. The back windows are so tiny, and the B pillar so large, it's pointless. The back window is a joke too, much like the bottom half on a Prius. Aside from that, I was a fan.
