Mac Pro DVD burner reccomendations
#1
The Sony that shipped with my MacPro is all of the sudden producing tons of coasters. The 2nd drive (Pioneer 116D) has always been slower than the Sony so I am going to change them both out.

Will any IDE DVD burner work? I have no need to burn/view blu ray media, just DL DVDs. Fast is good but reliable is better.

yup, anything IDE.

Pioneers are as good as any, newegg often has good deals.

Our lovely forum sponsor has pioneers for $40.

Aren't Nehalem Mac Pros SATA only? So you might need a SATA drive depending on which MP.

True.

But since a 116 is IDE and hes already got one in there, he has IDE.

And now I see I linked to SATAs
