Recommend a small countertop microwave oven?
#1
The microwave oven I've had for like 12 years died last night.

Shopped online and looked at a few today. Because of space requirements, it can't really be much
longer than 18-19". It seems the small microwaves are pieces of junk... even the Kenmore and GE
models at Sears got bad reviews. The other stuff is all made in China (Magic Chef, Avanti etc.) and
not my cup of tea.

Anyone know of something that fits the bill here? Thanks!

I keep waiting my 27 year old microwave to die because I want one of the 1.6+ cuft. 1300 W Panasonic inverter ovens. They get marginal reviews for customer service and displays though.

Are you sure all of them aren't made in China?

Of the ones you named, Magic Chef is probably the best "name."

Here would be my own list of choices:

They are all junk. Buy one with the idea that you'll throw it away.

Ideally, one would find an appliance store where they will dispose of it for you at no charge once your payment goes through.
